Preparing for your Facial
Appointment
-
Skip any strong at-home facial treatments the week before your appointment and any exfoliation treatments a few days prior.
-
Know the names of the skin care products you are using at home. Bring a list if you need to so you can discuss it with your esthetician.
-
If you’re looking to get rid of unwanted hair, avoid waxing or shaving your face at least 24 hours before your facial. This will allow enough time for your skin to heal from any redness, bumps, or irritation that might occur as a result of waxing or shaving. Also, by avoiding these hair removal methods, you will prevent any potential infections from occurring during your facial treatment.
-
It’s best to arrive to your appointment with a clean slate (no makeup). Although, your skin will be cleansed as part of the facial treatment so no worries if you forget or don't have the time.
-
Are you getting your skin ready for a big event? If you've never had a facial before and don't know how your skin will respond, I recommend scheduling an appointment about six weeks in advance with a follow-up appointment closer to your event date. Don't have that much time? That's okay. I can use my expertise to recommend a service that will help you put your best face forward.
-
Finally, when it’s time for your facial, make sure to relax and enjoy the experience. Don’t stress about your day or any personal issues.
-
Contraindications are listed in the description of each facial service on the "Services and Booking" page.

Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure. Use a cotton swab to apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment twice a day. The ointment should barely be visible on your brows, not glossy or wet looking.

Morning and night, wash your brows GENTLY with clean hands and mild, non-scented antibacterial soap. Rinse thoroughly and GENTLY. Pat 100% dry with a clean paper towel. You no longer have to apply the aftercare ointment. If you feel your brows are dry and itchy, you can. apply a small amount of LIGHT non-scented moisturizer, such as PMU professional aftercare which I provide you with.
Longterm
After the first two weeks you can resume most of your normal activities. For long-lasting results, continue avoiding things like chemical peels and sun exposure to the brow area. Use sunscreen and hats! Anything that damages or removes the skin will also damage or remove the pigment in that skin and cause it to fade faster.

-
Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

Days 4-7
Between these days, lips will begin and end the process of peeling, and color will lighten by 30%-50%.
Do not pick or rub your lips and let the peeling happen naturally. Continue keeping your lips moist!
Week 2
Lips are done peeling, color is light. You may return to normal routines. Lips will continue to heal, up to 6 weeks. Every week more color will surface, it is important to continue keeping lips moist to get the best color at the end of the healing phase.

After you’ve bathed/showered, apply some baby oil or E45 lotion to the waxed area.

Moisturise every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.

Healing Process
BROWS
Day 1
Fresh beautiful brows! Your brows will seem a bit darker and thicker then they will heal. You may experience some redness, slight bleeding, a little bit of pain, and tenderness.
Days 2-4
Your eyebrows will darken in color. Do not be alarmed, this is completely normal and they will fade.
Days 5-7
You'll start to notice some scabbing, and you brow area will be itchy. Do not pick at the scabs! For some, this can last up to a week or two.
Days 8-10
Your brows will fade significantly. Sometimes it appears as if you never got them done!
Days 14-28
Color will begin to come back. There may be some unevenness in color but this can be corrected at the touch-up.
Touch-up
You will have gorgeous brows! Touch-up is extremely important for desired results.
LIPS
Day 1
Your lip color will appear significantly brighter than it will heal. Your lips will also feel swollen and tender.
Day 2
Your color will begin to darken temporarily throughout the day as the pigment oxidizes.
Days 3-4
Your lips will feel dry and start the flaking process. Allow shedding to happen naturally.
Days 5-7
As your lips flake, it will appear that your lip color is very light and "frosty". This is only temporary as you are still healing.
Days 7-10
Peeling is subsiding. Your new natural lip color will reappear until it fully blooms. Lips are still very dry.
From 4-8 weeks
By this time, your lips are healed and it's recommended that you come back to touch-up any color that might have healed too light.
